

Ron serves as Chief Sustainability Advisor for Audubon Lifestyles. In 1987 he re-started the Audubon Society of New York State, Inc., (the second oldest Audubon Society in the United States). The Audubon Society of New York State, also known as Audubon International (AI) presently has membership and land management projects underway 26 countries around the world. Through AI Dodson, who serves as President of the organization, created the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (including programs for schools, farms, backyards, corporate properties, golf courses and municipalities) and the Audubon Signature Sanctuary Program designed for properties in the planning and design stages of development. All of these programs are internationally recognized and has received awards and praise from the U.S. EPA, the United Nations and various other international, national, state and local government bodies.
Dodson is also President of the International Sustainability Council, (ISC) and via the ISC he created the Sustainable Communities Campaign, through which he and other s are working with businesses and municipalities that are planning for more sustainable futures. Campaign efforts are presently underway in Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, New York, California, Portugal and China.
Prior his present positions with AI and the ISC Dodson was a Regional
Vice President of the National Audubon Society, Executive Director of the
Western Kentucky Environmental Planning Agency, Vice President of
Environment Management for Anaconda Aluminum Company and a biology and
science teacher at the high school and college levels. He was also Regional
Director of the Alaska Coalition during the Carter Administration, working
in Washington, D.C. and Alaska on Native Claims and Federal Parks and Refuge
establishment.
